Feature Product: Microfibre

Microfibre technology represents a dramatic innovation in cleaning equipment and processes. Products made using microfibre are strong and highly resistant to tearing and snagging – they are prefect for just about any cleaning task!

More About Microfibre Technology

Microfibre is a fine fibre that penetrates surfaces at a finer level than normal fibre and has been independently proven to remove 99.9% of bacteria.

Microfibre consists of extremely fine fibres and has a thickness approximately 50 times smaller than a human hair. Fibre technology permits cleaning products to be constructed not from one strand of fibre, as with conventional products, but from thousands of spherical Microfibre strands randomly laid out. The loops of each strand are so small that they have the same cleaning properties as normal Microfibre ends and this effectively creates a larger overall surface area and therefore better wiping capability.

Microfibre is derived from spherical fibres. It is composed of two different polymers, such as 70% polyester (which absorbs grease and dirt) and 30% polyamide (which absorbs water).

When a cleaning product made using Microfibre, such as a cloth, is dampened and used to wipe a surface, a capillary action sucks up dirt and moisture at higher levels than a conventional cloth. In addition, only minute particles are released back onto the surface, thereby removing the need for a second, drying, wipe.

Benefits of Using Microfibre Technology

The use of Microfibre technology represents a dramatic innovation in cleaning equipment and processes. Cleaning products made using Micro-fibre technology are strong, highly resistant to tearing and snagging and have extremely low levels of linting, or shedding fibres.

Additional benefits of cleaning products made using Micro-fibre technology include:

* Larger surface area (giving more contact with surface to be cleaned)

* Smaller amounts of water released

* Improved cleaning performance

* Only one wipe is required

Cleaning systems based on products using Microfibre technology can:

* Reduce the need for cleaning chemicals

* Improve the visual appearance of areas cleaned

* Help to reduce levels of infection by controlling mops and cloths and ensuring their sanitation through effective control and laundering

* Cleaning products made using Microfibre work well in wards with minimal carpeting or soft flooring, in bathrooms, on most hard floor types and are ideal for high dusting and for wall washing
